Is Yoga for everyone?
Yoga is a practice that has been around for a long time, and its benefits are well-documented from people who practice yoga everyday. From improving physical flexibility and strength to reducing stress and promoting mental well-being, the advantages of incorporating yoga into one’s lifestyle are numerous.
My first introduction to yoga was in the 90’s. I wanted to see if yoga actually worked. I always used to ask myself, “how can I lose weight with yoga?” If yoga is only about poses, where’s the cardio? That’s what made me want to try yoga. Well, it wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be. I started to sweat as soon as I tried to “hold on” to a yoga pose. The next day I had aches and pain in my arm, legs and abdominal. It does connects your mind and body. It allow you to breath and meditate at the same time. So, yoga does work but it is not for everyone.
